Gloria has mostly recovered from last week’s mystery virus – the last vestiges of the blisters-turned-scabs are clearing, and she’s a happy camper overall (mommy and daddy are also much happier campers now, and grateful to have our nights back to normal). She has been a bit needy at naptime and bedtime over the past few days, so we suspect another bout of teething – she does want to chew on everything in sight (below you’ll notice photos of her munching on kitchen implements and my old glasses).
Things are going well with our nanny-share so far. Unfortunately the other baby, Eliana, also caught the mystery virus and had an unpleasant weekend, but aside from sharing germs the two young’uns seems to getting along quite nicely. Gloria seems happy when I pick her up, and has been enjoying Eliana’s toys immensely. She’s also doing reasonably well with the bottle there – much better than she does at home with Kenny – so we are very thankful for that.
Gloria has shifted a bit more of her sleep to daytime than seems to be optimal – there were a couple of days last week that Gloria slept for over 4 hours in combined naps, and then slept relatively poorly (for her) at night. I think the solution is to start limiting her naps and shifting sleep back to nighttime – I’ve got the nanny onboard, so we’ll see how things go next week.
